Second Grade Homework Policy

*The purpose of 2nd Grade homework is to practice skills that have been taught in class.

*The amount of time spent on homework varies for each student. We expect each child to complete homework (including reading time and studying spelling words) between 30-40 minutes each night.

*Since homework reviews skills previously taught, parent involvement should be minimal. Parents should check work for completion and accuracy. They should help if needed; however, students should be the ones to do the work. Please help us to reinforce neat handwriting and showing work on math problems!

*If HW is not turned in on time, the student will turn a card & must bring the work the next day. Sometimes students will finish the homework during break or after eating lunch.
