As a collaborative team, we will promote, foster, and support teachers and students as life long learners through professional development, PLCs, coaching, modeling and teambuilding.

 

     I am very proud to be in my sixth year as principal of Cool Spring School.  Our school is a wonderful place to learn!  The entire staff works hard together to make sure that each child receives the best education possible to prepare for living and learning in the 21st century.

     To give you a little bit of information about me, I was born in Statesville and have lived here all of my life, except for college.  I graduated from Statesville Sr. High, MCC, and received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Applachian State University.

     Teaching is in my blood!  My mother was a pre-school teacher, my grandmother was an elementary teacher, and my great grandmother was a teacher in a one-room school.  I am proud to say that my daughter, Anna, is now a teacher in the exceptional children's program at Shepherd Elementary.

      In my spare time, I like reading, walking, boating, and attending ASU football games.  Go Mountaineers!  My absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with my granddaughter!
