My Classroom Mission

"We, Mrs. Adkins' AWESOME class, will be responsible and work hard to pass our EOG's.  We will do this by paying attention, working as a team, and helping others.  With honesty and integrity, we will enjoy our whole year-'at school we will rule'!"  created 8/27/12
About Me
My Family   3 kids
In case you are new to our school or our area, let me tell you a little about myself.  I was born in  Ironton, Ohio and graduated from Ohio University in 1994.  I taught 2 years in Ohio before getting married in 1996 and moving away from home!   My husband and I have lived in Statesville for over 16 years.  I taught at Central Elementary in North Iredell for 5 years-loving every minute!  After staying at home with my own sweet babies for a few years, I came to Cool Spring Elementary. We have lived in Cool Spring since 1998 and love the community. This will be my 9th year teaching at Cool Spring Elementary. I love our school and am committed to serving my community by providing a quality education to my students.
Our oldest child is in the sixth grade, while our younger two children Wyatt and Walker are here at Cool Spring Elementary!  I love teaching and working with children and the staff here at our school. I enjoy writing poetry, reading historical fiction, working with the cub scouts, scrapbooking (if I have time), and hiking in the fall.  I especially love to teach science and look forward to experiencing many activities with your child.  Thank you for sharing your children with me this year.
