All About Your Teacher
My name is Debbie Fesperman. I have just begun my 11th year of teaching and my ninth in kindergarten. Although it is challenging at times, I truly love teaching children of this age. They are full of curiosity and, therefore, love discovering and learning. I am amazed each year at the academic and social growth achieved by each student at year's end.
What is my classroom like?
I believe that learning should be fun, especially in kindergarten. I challenge all students to achieve their full potential while working hard to instill in each child a love of learning. We spend much time reading and discussing books. Skills are learned through hands-on activities, playing games, writing and creating using various materials, role-playing, and pretending. Students develop responsibility by following classroom procedures, performing classroom duties, and fulfilling roles in groups. I strive to make my classroom positive, joyful, nurturing, and comfortable. It's a place that I hope students want to be!
What is my family like?
I have been married for 25 years. My husband's name is David. We have two wonderful boys, Garett and Ethan. They are both in college and make us very proud. Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do. We enjoy going to baseball games, grilling out, family time at home, and traveling when we get the chance. In my spare time, I enjoy walking, reading, watching movies, eating out, and digging around in my flower gardens.
