School Demographics: Celeste Henkel serves 570 students. Of the students currently enrolled, 78% are Caucasian; 12.5% African- American; 6.11% Hispanic; 2.97% Asian; .33% other.

Program Offerings:

Celeste Henkel Elementary offers a variety ofeducational programs to enable our students to meet their educational needs.All students attend Art, Music, Physical Education, Guidance, Technology andMedia classes.  Students are given theopportunity to work on their ability level during our “Hornet Time” block eachday.  We also offer programs such as IXLMath, Corrective Reading, Reading Mastery, and Study Island.  To enhance our student’s educationalexperiences at Celeste we offer 16 after school clubs which include, SchoolNewspaper, Chorus, Art, Leadership, Robotics, etc.

Overall Goals for this School Year:

Reading:  We will increase our overall Reading Proficiency from 67.1% to 75% asmeasured by the 2011 End of Grade Testing.

 

Math: We will increase our overall Math Proficiency from 83.7% to 89% asmeasured by the 2011 End of Grade Testing.
