My Classroom Mission
To produce successful, productive, respectful, and positive thinking citizens of our community by creatively engaging them in their learning and helping them to strive to be better than they were yesterday and seeking for a better tomorrow.
I have a wonderful husband named John, three children named Jordan (11 years old) and Joseph (6 years old), and Ella (2 years old). I also have a Miniature Schnauzer named Ginger. I was born in Pennsylvania and lived there for 5 years. I then moved to Alaska when I was 5 and lived there for 18 years. I LOVED living there! I miss the mountains, the snow, going camping, down-hill skiing, snowmobiling, the summers, and the Northern Lights! In 2000, I moved to North Carolina and began my teaching career in 2003.
I graduated from high school in Alaska in 1995.
I graduated from University of Alaska Fairbanks in 1999 with a BA in Psychology with a minor in Justice.
Huron University, South Dakota - two years
University of Nevada Reno - one year
University of Alaska Fairbanks - year and a half

My license is in Special Education with a focus in Learning Disabilities.
I have been teaching middle school for 10 years.
I love to:
read, teach kids of all ages, scrapbook, play sports (volleyball, softball, table tennis, pool), go down-hill skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, camping, traveling, play games with my family, spend a lot of time with family/friends, go to church, get in snowball fights, eat Italian, Mexican, and Thai food, eat at The Melting Pot and at Cierro's (both in Charlotte).
I also love Starbucks' White Mochas and Mocha Frappuccinos with whip cream, chocoloate/carmel syrup, and shaved chocolate sprinkles on top! YUM!
