I was born and raised outside of Los Angeles, California.  I have been married to Rick for 36 years.  I have two children, Jennifer and Matthew, and four grandchildren.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arkansas Tech University.  I received my Master's degree in Special Education from UNC Charlotte.  I have been teaching at East Iredell Middle School for 16 years. I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  I currently work with the 8th grade teachers in Pre-Algebra, Language Arts, and Science.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, dancing, traveling, and spending time with my family.
