My Classroom Mission
 
I will challenge all students to be at or above grade level in Reading and Writing. I will achieve this with the support of the staff, the principal, students, and parents.

 
About Me
 
I grew up in Statesville and went on to receive a degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.  After working for the Employment Security Commission for eight years, I chose to become a Teacher Assistant.  It was during that time at Cool Spring Elementary that I decided I wanted to teach and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College to earn my teacher's license.  I am now in my sixth year of teaching at East.  My husband Chris and I have been married for 20 years and have two children, Elizabeth and Thomas, and a dog named Bella.
