Criterion A: Oral Communication (message and interaction)
Level 4: Information communicated clearly and effectively; simple and complex ideas are relevant and developed. Student shows understanding by responding correctly in familiar and spontaneous situations. Student contributes to the coherent flow of conversation and is actively and spontaneously engaged. Any prompting is natural and does not disturb the flow.
Criteria B: Oral Communication (language)
Level 4: Pronunciation &/or intonation have occasional mistakes that do not interfere with comprehensibility. Wide range of vocabulary & structures used appropriately, including idioms. Errors do not interfere.
Criterion C: Writing (message & interaction)
Level 4: Information communicated clearly and effectively; simple and complex ideas are relevant and supported. Student structures work clearly and effectively; message has clarity and coherence; effective use of cohesive devices.
Criterion D: Writing (language)
Level 4: Uses wide range of vocabulary, varied structures and idioms appropriately. Errors do not interfere. Student shows good command of spelling/writing. Student shows clear sense of audience.
Criterion E: Reading Comprehension
Level 4: Student identifies stated and implied information, main ideas, and supporting details with familiar and unfamiliar language. Student draws conclusions and recognizes opinions and attitudes implied within the text. Student identifies some aspects of format and style where appropriate. Student shows a good understanding of the text(s) overall.
Level 5: Student identifies stated and implied information, main ideas, and supporting details with familiar and unfamiliar language &/or complex ideas. Student draws conclusions and recognizes opinions and attitudes implied within the text. Student identifies some aspects of format and style where appropriate.
