Our Classroom Mission
Our purpose is to grow as students both mentally and emotionally. We will strive to find ways to connect literature to our everyday lives in order to enrich our well-being. As the teacher, my job is empower you to discover literature in a beneficial manner. My hope is that students will leave my classroom with skills that will serve them well in society and bring them personal satisfaction in achieving their goals.
I am entering my 11th year as an English teacher; however, it is my first year at North Iredell! I have taught every subject imaginable related to English, and this year I will enjoy teaching World Literature to sophomores and Broadcasting/Mass Media.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in English Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and I soon followed that with my Master's degree in Multicultural and Transnational Literature at East Carolina University. I also have my AIG certification from the University of Virginia. I enjoy rooting for all my previous schools, but I'm most excited to wear North Iredell blue and red!
I am married with a three-year-old son, and when not at work, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy going to outdoor festivals, attending concerts, and running around outside!
