Welcome to our English as a Second Language program. It is a pleasure to have each of you in our program, and my hope is that all of you will enjoy learning English and that you will appreciate how learning English will help you move toward your social and academic goals.
The mission of my English as a Second Language classroom is to help Limited English Proficient students read, write, and speak English at a near native level, and and ultimately succeed academically and socially.
About Me

I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago, a twin island nation in the southern Caribbean. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Government, and a Diploma in Education, with a specialization in the Teaching of Foreign Languages from the
University of the West Indies. I also attended Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida.
After graduating, I taught Spanish for fifteen years in my native Trinidad. My family and I moved to the United States in 1995, and since then I taught Spanish for four years in South Florida.
This is my fifth year with Iredell Statesville Schools, and also at North Iredell High School. Teaching is my passion, and I love working with young people and helping them achieve their goals and dreams. I am excited to be here at North Iredell High School.
