Welcome to the world of Social Studies.  This year's eighth grade students will study the great state of North Carolina and United States History. Eighth grade students will look at the history and development of North Carolina and the United States. My classes will follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
 
My Classroom Mission

We will rigorously challenge ourselves to achieve our academic potential and to lead productive and successful lives while having fun. We will achieve this mission with the support of parents, staff, students, pets, and our community.

 
About Me

I graduated from UNC-Wilmington, go SEAHAWKS, and have taught for fifteen years. I was Brawley Middle School's Teacher of the Year (2004/2005) and was awarded UNC-Wilmington's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005. I was recognized as a Nationally Board Certified teacher in 2009. In 2012, I received my Master's degree in Middle School Education from Gardner-Webb University.
