Course:  Our studies will follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for World History by goals and objectives as described in the instructional guide, pacing guide and other curriculum support documents.  (This is a required course with specific  goals and the final assessment is a state made exam (referred to as MSL counts 25% of semester grade )  The strategies used in presenting this course should relieve the stress of the districtand state requirements for the successful completion of this class.  The ultimate goal is to have each student be an active successful contributor to our school , community, and country. It is my privilege to be the teacher for this part of your child's journey.

This course will exercise strategies to integrate and focus on the essentials from World History as prescribed by the NC standard course of study, as well as integrate the new curriculum standards into the semester course, including US History and Civics and Economics as they align with World History throughout this semester.  Students will have to use critical thinking skills to evaluate themes in history, make predictions, interpret and solve problems that face society today.

What's done is done! Spring 2013 will be an experience for all of us. I expect all students to get off to a great start by turning in all assigned work on time and taking good notes by key summary statements. I will continue to NOT REWARD slackers in my class, but day to day can take care of course work.  If students apply themselves, not disrupting the process, we will have a very successful semester.  coach K
