Denmark Program Newsletter 2012-13 v.1

You're Invited!

Dear Denmark Program Participant Parent,
Our first family meeting will take place next Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 6pm in the LNHS library.
Therefore, we are personally inviting you to attend this evening.
Please bring all of your questions and suggestions.
The meeting should last about 45 minutes, and will cover several popular issues that are listed below.

Special LNHS Student Assignment DUE by Wednesday, Sept. 19 Meeting:
All students, travelers and hosts must type up a profile paragraph. This information is used to match you with a Danish student.
The paragraph should include details about a few specific things:
• General overview of your personality
• Family (size & make-up)
• Pets, if any
• Schedule (teams, clubs, church)
• Allergies, if any
• Interests (movies, TV, games, music, sports, art, books, Apps)
• Facebook/Skype contact information?
• ADD A PICTURE!

We prefer this profile be turned in electronically, so that it may be sent to the Danish teacher quickly.
*However, this profile may be turned in by hand at the meeting.

IMPORTANT: We will be handing out important information concerning hosting that must be returned ASAP to begin matching and placing students with hosts.
Looking forward to seeing you!

therefore, they will be with us during the week of November 4-11.

What is my part, as a parent?
As a parent, it is ultimately your responsibility to provide care and safety for your Danish student.
Please provide transportation to school, daily meals, and
personal space within your home for the visiting student to study and sleep.

What is my part, as a student
As a representative of LNHS, your first priority is to be a role model for the Danish students:
abide by rules, keep your studies up, and try to help them enjoy their stay.
You will also take the lead on the research project, guiding your Danish partner through the process.

When are payments due?
The total payment needed to travel is $2300.
This is due the day before Christmas break, December 20.
A suggested payment plan is on the school website & will be reviewed at the meeting.
