Classroom Discipline Plan

Our school system's discipline policy states that a classroom must be a place where students can freely learn and teachers can teach without interruption. Schools need to provide a safe and orderly environment. We ask your support by encouraging your child to remember and abide by the following classroom rules.

We use assertive discipline in our classroom. If we have a discipline problem with your child, we will send a note home. If your child continues to have discipline problems, he/she will be put on an action plan and we will meet to discuss and develop ideas on how to help your child.

We had a classroom meeting and discussed what rules and consequences we thought we needed and the students decided on these:

1. Be respectful of people and property.

2. Follow all the directions the first time.

3. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

4. Do your best.

Consequences:

1. Name on board--warning

2.  2 checks –time out

3. 3 checks – note home

4. 4 checks –send to principal's office

It is our greatest hope that students will learn to make appropriate choices, so we can find ways to catch them being good!

If a child follows the rules, these are the daily results:

1. Improves learning

2. Shows good character.

3. Builds positive self-esteem.

4. Promotes safety.

5. Earns recognition.
