BIRTHDAY TABLE
The birthday table is a new project this year that the PTO will support. Approximately every other month there will be a table set up outside the cafeteria. Every student and staff member that celebrated a birthday during the specified months can come by the table for a special treat. This is our way of helping all students and staff celebrate their special day.
BOOK SWAP
Starting in January, the PTO will sponsor a book swap each month. Students will bring a "gently used" book that they have already enjoyed to the library and exchange it for another "gently used" book of their choice.
Students must swap within the same type of book, but they may swap up in difficulty level. For example, a chapter book level 3 can be traded for a chapter book level 4. However, they can not trade a small picture book for a chapter book.
If you have any books that you would like to donate to help us get our initial supply going, please send them to the school with a note. On the note, simply state that the book is a book swap donation and we will add it to our supply. We are looking forward to this exciting new project and look forward to your support.
THUNDERBIRD HOMEBOUND BAGS
With the help of staff members and generous donations, the PTO has created special bags that will be given to any student who has at least an overnight stay at the hospital. A PTO volunteer will contact the parent to ask permission to deliver these bags to the student while in the hospital, if at all possible. Some students staying in a hospital out of town may have their bag delivered to their home. Please let someone at the school know of any hospitalizations so that we may get the student their bag.
