I am originally from Princeton, West Virginia and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 from West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) with a degree in Elementary Education grades K-6. I also scored in the top ten percent of the nation on the Praxis II Test, which is a test required for all teachers to get their teaching license.
I made the move to North Carolina in July of 2005 with high hopes and my beloved dog. Since living here I have developed a true love for the area and my job. My heart lies in Kindergarten and I enjoy every minute of it. I have also been lucky enough to find my "better half" here in North Carolina. I married Matthew Park on January 19, 2008 at my home church in West Virginia. My maiden name was "Peak" and now I am a "Park”. Since being married we have added two "fur babies" to our family, Max and Sheba.
In the fall of 2009, I began working on my National Board Certification. I obtained the certification in November 2010. "National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential. It complements, but does not replace, a state’s teacher license. National Board Certification is achieved upon successful completion of a voluntary assessment program designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers who meet high standards based on what teachers should know and be able to do." cited from< http://www.nbpts.org>
I believe every child can learn and every child has a special skill they can excel in. I also believe every child likes to dance - so we do that a lot. Please come in and visit us, make a craft with us, eat lunch with us, and come dance with us. You are always welcome!
