My mission is to develop a love for learning in my classroom that will

continue throughout your child's life.

My name is Cindy Whitson. I was born and raised in Lancaster, S.C. I received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood from the University of South Carolina.

I taught at the Elementary School which I attended as a child. This was where I was given the love for learning by many, wonderful teachers! I taught First and Second Grade for 6 years in S.C.

In 1987, Gregg and I were married. He was already living in Statesville serving as Youth Minister at First Baptist Church. This is how I began my teaching career in the Iredell/Statesville School System. My first job was teaching a K/1 combination class at Monticello. When the two systems merged I moved to N.B. Mills which was a K-2 school. There I taught 2nd and Kindergarten. I have been teaching Kindergarten ever since. It is truly my favorite age to teach because there are never two days that are the same! I believe I was destined to be a teacher. Both of my Grandmother's were Teacher's! I began teaching at Scott's after the birth of our 2 sons. We are so blessed to have Bentley who is 12 yrs. old and Erikson who is 10 yrs. old.

I totally LOVE being a Mom! Our boys keep us very busy! We enjoy doing things together as a family. Some of our past favorite trips were a Disney Cruise, visiting the Aquarium in Charleston, S.C. this summer, trips to the mountains, and to the beaches! We love going back home to see our families whenever we have the opportunity!
