I am excited to be at Mt. Mourne for the fourth year and am happy to be working with such a great team of professionals.  More importantly, I consider myself fortunate to come to school each day and see all of you—the inquisitive, enthusiastic, and dedicated students who have chosen to be a part of this dynamic place.  I hope that we will get to know each other through a community service project, a classroom guidance activity, or just by talking about what classes you may wish to take in high school.

As the school counselor, my role is to help you if you are having difficulty with anything that might impact your academic life: transitioning to middle school, friendship issues, balancing school and social demands, or anything else that you wish to talk about.  There is a lot going on in our world and it sometimes helps to know that there are resources available to help you. 

I was a kid who always loved going to school!  I could not wait for summer vacation to be over so I could get back to the classroom. So, it probably won’t surprise you to know that my entire professional career has been in education.  I have worked as a college advisor and an admissions director, I have taught both middle school and college level classes, and 15 years ago obtained my counseling degree and became nationally board certified.  I have worked as a school counselor in high school and middle school settings.
