2012-2013 Basketball signups for K-2, JV (3rd-4th graders), and Varsity (5th-6th graders) will be held in the Cloverleaf cafeteria on the dates listed below.

Our K-2 will be run through the Statesville YMCA again this year. A representative from the Y will be at signups, you can either sign-up then or go to the YMCA to signup. If you go to the YMCA to sign-up, then please make sure to put that you belong to Cloverleaf in order to receive the special pricing and make sure you get on a Cloverleaf team. The cost for K-2 is $40 per player and includes a jersey and trophy.

The cost for JV and Varsity is $50 per player. This fee covers equipment cost, full uniforms, and trophies. Please note that we will be getting new uniforms this year. We will have samples available during sign-ups to assist in sizing. Please make sure that your child is present so that the correct size can be ordered, also make sure to bring check or cash only to sign-ups. JV and Varsity practice is scheduled to start the second or third week of November. We will practice 1-2 times per week for about 1 ½ hour each practice.

We need Coaches for all teams. If you would like to coach or just help out, please let me know. We need 2-3 coaches per team.

The CYAA offers a Youth Basketball League for all students in grades K-6. Leagues are divided into the following grade groups: K-2nd grade, 3rd-4th and 5th-6th grade. CYAA/SIYAA Basketball follows the rules as laid out by the NCHSAA - North Carolina High School Athletic Association with modifications that include goal hight (K-2) and Period play time.

Basketball teams are usually divided along school lines and schools may field more than one team in each age bracket. K-2 teams are typically Co-ed while the 3-6 grades are divided into boys and girls teams along the following grade levels:

  • K-2: Instructional League
  • 3rd-4th Grade: Jr. Varsity
