Homework

Students are required to read for at least 20 minutes everyday. I will also be sending home homework each night in math and/or English language art. Your child should not have more than one hour of homework each night. If they consistently have more than one hour of homework each night please contact me by  letter or phone and we can make adjustments. Students that habitually sit in class and are not on task will be bringing the incomplete work home to finish it. Parents please be available to help your child with their homework because good work and study habits make for good teens and young adults.

In my classroom I am firm but fair. I really try to help the students learn how to resolve issues independently. If students can not resolve issues I will help them and model how to handle the issue in the future. I spend the whole year trying to get 5th graders ready to be responsible and ready for middle school.
