First Grade provides exciting learning experiences for young children.  Our methods of teaching young children are driven by the Common Core State Standards.  The methods used in teaching reading and writing skills are as follows:

The method used in teaching math skills is manipulative based where children learn through hands-on activities.  Classroom computers enhance the communication and math skills taught as well as technology skills. We also attend a few fun-learning field trips per year.  We hope all children will experience success and be life-long learners here at Coddle Creek.
