We, the students in Mrs. Rupinski's first grade, are here to learn! We want to make our brains "smart so we are ready for second grade.
We will reach our goals by paying attention to the teacher, "opening our ears" so we will know how to follow directions, and doing our work completely.
We will respect our school, others, and ourselves. We will be honest and have fun this year! :)
About Me
Welcome to Lakeshore's first grade! My name is MaryJo Rupinski. I have enjoyed teaching at Lakeshore since it opened in 1998. I have taught first through fifth-grades. I previously taught at Lake Norman Elementary School. This marks my sixteenth year of teaching with the Iredell-Statesville Schools.
I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS in Business Administration. For several years I worked in bank management. After having my children, I decided to leave the business world and become a teacher. I attended Queen's University in Charlotte and received my masters degree in teaching.
Mooresville has been my family's home for over 20 years. We are originally from northern Ohio. My family and I enjoy hiking and traveling together in our free time. We have a sweet little bunny named Cooper who rules our home. I have two incredible sons in college.
Each year it is exciting to get to work with, and get to know, a new and exciting group of children. I believe each child needs to feel a special part of my classroom "family". I encourage my students to always do their best by being responsible, respectful, while keeping a positive attitude. It is my goal to challenge, yet not frustrate, each student to his/her full potential. When parents and teachers work together as a team, students will work harder, experience rewarding success and be prepared for the next step of the educational process.
