The first graders are getting in the Halloween spirit as they draw ghosts. They are working on manipulating the mouse on the laptops by using the drawing tools in the Kidspiration program. After drawing their ghost, they typed their name in a text box, and even used the shift key to make a capital letter. These ghosts will be on display outside of the student classrooms during LNE Family night for Spooky Science! Click on the picture to see their scary ghosts!
The 2nd graders are working on the essential skill "I can use spreadsheets to organize, calcualate and graph data." We took a class survey on how many pets each student has at home and input the data into a spreadsheet. From here, ths students used the chart wizard to create a graph to display their results. The fun part was determining which type of graph to use! Click on the picture to see what awesome graphs they created!
Welcome to our new visitor Wally the Ant. Wally is visiting schools all over the country. Wally has been fortunate to visit places as far away as Marlyand, Canada, Australia, Florida, Michigan and many more places. This project originated in Pennsylvania and all the schools Wally has visited are posted on a special site. The first graders will be looking at this site to learn where Wally has been and to see our own school listed among the places Wally has visited! This all ties in with the 1st grade essential skill: "I can explore websites and talk about different things I can learn from the Internet." Wally we're glad you came to join us!
