Mrs. Bristol's Grading Policy

It is my goal that every student be successful in my class.  To enable success of my students, every student starts their year off with an "A". What they choose to do with that "A" is entirely up to them. They can either work very hard to keep the "A", or if they put less effort into their work, they may choose to let the "A" slip away. Due to the rigorous nature of our program and curriculum, please note on the below grading scale that a C indicates average work and student understanding of material.

93-100        A     Exceptional work
85-92          B     Above average work
77-84          C     Average work

70-76          D     Below average work

0-69            F     Significantly below average work

Late Work will not be accepted.
Learning to work within a deadline is a valuable life skill.  However exceptions exist to every rule. If you truly have a hardship meeting a deadline, please let me know and we will make a decision at that time.

Assignments Without Work Shown
There will be no credit given if a paper is turned in without showing how the problem was solved.  This is accepted practice in every math class you will ever take.

Assignments Missing a Name:
Work turned in without a name will automatically be discarded. It is up to each student to take credit for their work and be responsible for making sure it is turned in correctly and on time.

There are no Math test retakes.
Students will not have an option to retake tests.  They will be provided with a practice test that will be scored and discussed in class before the test.   It is my understanding that students who use this as a review and practice good study habits will have no trouble being successful on their tests.

Level 1 Math Make-up Test Policy:

Students have 6 school days from their return to make up a test for an unreduced grade.  After this time, makeups will no longer be permitted and the grade will be entered as a zero.

Math make-ups must be scheduled in advance with Mrs. Bristol.  Failure to make arrangements in advance may result in the test not being able to be made up in the 6 day time period.
