IBO Mission Statement The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
NorthView School Mission Statement NorthView School is committed to developing internationally minded lifelong learners by fostering a safe, respectful, and caring environment that promotes intercultural awareness and multiple modes of communication through holistic learning. I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Catawba College. I am a certified Language Arts teacher for grades six through nine. This is my twelfth year in Iredell-Statesville Schools. I have a Master's degree in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in English as well as an Administration degree from Appalachian State University (ASU). ASU and UNC-Charlotte is where I also obtained 18 credits of graduate English classes. Equally important, I am National Board certified and a certified 21st Century Literacy Coach. My teaching experience includes six years at North Iredell Middle School teaching language arts, two years at Statesville Middle School as a Literacy Coach, and one year at Northview as a Language A teacher. This is my third year as the IB Coordinator & Instructional Facilitator at Northview. As a Literacy Coach, I received multiple hours of professional development training through the North Carolina Teacher Academy. I absolutely love education and working with young adolescents! I celebrate my 11th year in Iredell-Statesville Schools. I have been married for 11 years to Chad who teaches PE at Statesville Middle, and we have one son, Jackson, who is the love of our lives! I have two dogs (a Boxer and a Boxer-Pit), Nacho and Redick, and I have a black and white cat, Scooter. I am looking forward to an exciting and productive 2012-13 year at Northview!
