Our mission in Mrs. Stevens' 8th grade Language Arts classes is to learn Language Arts skills so that we may read efficiently, communicate effectively, and pass our EOG test.

 

We will accomplish this mission by turning in completed, high-quality assignments; helping each other focus and learn; and encouraging each other to be our best.

 

BIO:
- native of Statesville
- married 12 years
- one son

- graduated Appalachian State University (www.appstate.edu) 1994 with a

B.A. in English

- certified Appalachian State University 1997 in middle school Language Arts

- beginning my 16th year at WIMS:

* 2 years AIG 6th, 7th, 8th grades

* 13 years regular ed.
- mentor teacher
- CCI demo classroom 2008-2009
- PLC chair 2009-2010, 2010-2011

INTERESTS:
- reading:  Holocaust, Christian fiction, young adult literature
- snow skiing
- computers/technology

- scrapbooking

GOALS:
- to teach at WIMS until I retire
- upon retirement, open a daycare for senior adults
