My Classroom Mission
I will work with all 6th grade Language Arts Teachers,ISS staff, students and parents to compile data, use best practices, and coordinate daily lessons to accomodate the Core Curriculum standards & the ISS Pacing Guide containing Essential Objectives to rigorously challenge and motivate all students to raise standardized scores, maintain a successful average in class, and prove consistent growth throughout the year. This contributes to the student becoming college/university prepared if that is the path he or she so chooses.

 I love teaching at WIMS!  I've been a Language Arts/ Social Studies teacher in this county since 1999.  I graduated from UNC- Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Sciences. I am married to a teacher/coach, and we have one daughter, Olivia. I reside in Claremont, NC where I have spent the majority of my life.
