West Iredell Middle School Mission Statement
As a professional learning community, we will educate all students, meet Average Yearly Progress, and achieve expected growth. We will accomplish our mission by providing learning-centered classrooms, teaching the Common Core Curriculum, developing programs and strategies for students not meeting academic objectives, and challenging those that meet or exceed goals.
Strategic Learning Goal
By May of 2013, all students in our L.A. Class will have mastered ALL Language Arts Essential Objectives taken from the I-SS Curriculum Guide and Common Core Standards as measured by our Benchmark Data, Predictive Assessments, Common Assessments, and Reading End of Grade Assessment.
My Student Mission Statement for Language Arts
We are here to: Learn about and increase our reading comprehension, get ready for the Reading EOG, work together and learn to cooperate with others, and be respectful of others.
What we are going to do: pay attention and listen in class, follow directions, listen to the teacher, be respectful of students and teachers, clean up after ourselves, read and write our assignments, do our homework each night, take notes during class, and give 100% each day!!
We will achieve our goals by: doing our work each day, getting to class on time, studying for our quizzes and tests, following directions, reading all directions before doing our work, being respectful of others while they are speaking, taking notes, read each night at home, have a positive and winning attitude, and give 100% each and everyday in class!!
By May 2013, 100% of the 6th grade L.A. students in Coach D.’s classes will meet or exceed all Common Core Standards as measured by a score of a 3 or 4 on the Reading EOG and to show growth!! :)
About Me
I grew up in Michigan and I am currently in my 9th year in the Iredell-Statesville School System. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
