I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, Secondary Education. I have been in education for twelve years, all in North Carolina. I have worked at the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School level either in Science or Exceptional Children. I am certified in Biology, High School Science, Middle School Science, Middle School Languagen Arts, Middle School Math, and Exceptional Children General Curriculum.

My husband, Michael, and I have been married for ten years. I have a daughter, Madison, who is eight, and a step-son, Jordan, who is thirteen. I enjoy reading, watching sports, and traveling. I also enjoy watching the TV shows NCIS, Covert Affairs, Necessary Roughness, Rizzoli and Isles, Criminal Minds, and Perception.

My favorite sports teams are the Boston Red Sox and the University of North Carolina Tarheels (in college basketball).
