The noted mission of our social studies class is and will be to search out and provide  a deep understanding of the history of our country, the impact of events, people and laws, and the role they played in the formulation of our current society. The role of and how the state of North Carolina was, and continues to be influenced by these events will also be explored. The mission of the classroom setting will also be to make sure students are receiving information about the topics being covered in a way that supports their learning styles, thus allowing all students to be classroom contributors, as being apart of the process makes it yours.

 

I have taught social studies in the Iredell Statesville School System for 12 years. The teaching of social studies/history is something I truly enjoy. The content allows for true student to teacher interaction, as well as student to student interaction which truly promotes and enhances overall learning and understanding. I am a husband and father of two daughters. I am a graduate of Fayetteville State University, located in Fayetteville N.C. and received my National Board certification in 2005 in the area of social studies.

 

I enjoy activities with my family, travel, yard work, and horseback riding.
