I am a 24 year veteran teacher who graduated from Catawba College. I obtained my AIG certification from High Point University,spring 2004. I believe children are better students when they have a stake in their learning. I like for students to have choices in the way they learn and complete assignments. I am thrilled when my encouragement and coaching helps a young person. It thrills me to see a student's face light up when they really "get it." Wow what a feeling!

 

  Family is very important to me.  I have one daughter. We have 4 generations living on my mother's side of the family. I am busy enjoying life with my 5 grandbabies. Reading, board games, ballgames, playing tennis, swimming, hiking, and traveling over the summer to the beach are some extracurricular activities we enjoy together. I enjoy being a lifelong learner and look forward to encouraging my students to set high goals for academic success. Working together will bring many growth opportunites. I am glad to be able to share this year with you.
