School Phone: 704-873-3491 AP United States History Twitter: @SHSapUSH My Classroom Mission Students will investigate key people, events and concepts in search of developing a better understanding of the history of the United States. Learners will also utilize critical thinking to determine how our nation's past impacts our lives today, as well as in the future. About Me I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in December of 2009. Before teaching Social Studies at Statesville High, I was a teacher assistant in the Exceptional Children's Department here at SHS, as well as a substitute teacher in all of the high schools in the county. I am also the head JV Baseball and assistant Varsity Baseball coach here at SHS. I believe that my wide range of experiences both in college and since graduation have made me a better equipped teacher! I enjoy playing fantasy football, taking trips to Boone, fishing, studying economics and the stock market, and watching movies. I also love making history more exciting to others, and presenting difficult information in new and different ways, in hopes that students can make their own connections and take ownership of their futures!
