About Me
Hello and welcome to my world!  I am starting my 20th year as an English teacher in the ISS system.  Previously, I taught at South Iredell High and West Iredell High before coming to Statesville High School.  I guess you could say that I returned "home" because I graduated from SHS in 1988.  I am the proud mother of two daughters, Abbey (13 years) and Halle, pronounced like Halle Berry, (10 years); they keep me very busy with soccer, volleyball, and basketball.  The girls and I adopted a retired racing greyhound recently, Bernie Mac (yes, he came with this name!), and he is the school's official mascot. Other than being a mom, my passion is teaching.  My aspirations from around the age of 7 were either to be an archaeologist or a teacher; hmmm, I wonder how that turned out?!  When I'm not on some kind of athletic field/court or in the classroom, I enjoy gardening, reading, photography, and spending time outdoors.

I attended Western Carolina University
I graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 1993 with a BA in English
I received National Board Certification in 2001
