My Classroom Mission
The mission in Career-Technical Education is to help empower students for effective participation in an international economy as world-class workers and citizens. CTE programs are designed to contribute to the broad educational achievement of students, including basic skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as to their ability to work independently and as part of a team, think creatively and solve problems, and utilize technology.
I am a NIHS Alumni (Go Raiders)! I received my BS degree at Appalachian State University
in Health Promotions with a minor in Foods and Nutrition, and my teaching license from NC A&T University
. I am currently in the Executive Leadership Program at Gardner Webb University
seeking my masters in administration. I have taught for thirteen years and enjoy being a Family & Consumer Sciences Educator.
I love to spend time with my family. My husband is a Humanities Teacher at Northview IB. I have two beautiful children, Hannah (13) who attends NIMS and enjoys playing volleyball and with her little brother, Joshuah(2) . We enjoy traveling to West Virginia to visit family and cheering for both MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!
