"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

My Classroom Mission

My mission is to help prepare students for success in the "real world." Students will learn the essential reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills necessary for success in high school, college, and the world at large. Additionally, students will gain an appreciation for literature and how novels, plays, and poetry help us examine the world and understand the human condition.

I will work to help students become thinkers and life-long learners!

About Me

I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, where I received both my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and my Teaching Credential.

I am very excited to be teaching at Lake Norman High School! This is my fifth year at Lake Norman. My husband, daughters, and I moved here in July 2008 from Southern California, where I previously taught in the Irvine school district. I absolutely love teaching and am looking forward to a very rewarding year with my English students.

I am married and have three beautiful daughters.  Some of my hobbies include reading, playing golf, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. You can usually find us boating, skiing, or riding motorcycles and ATVs (when I'm not grading essays!). And, if there is a Giants Football game or an Angels Baseball game being played -- you can bet we are cheering them on!
