Welcome Parents and Students!
I am looking forward to a new school year, and I hope that you are as well. It is my hope that you will find this site helpful throughout the semester.
My Classroom Mission
As a class, we will strive to conquer the concepts in the Standard Course of Study to prepare for our future. In order to achieve this goal, we will work well together by helping each other, respecting each other, and communicating with each other. We will be successful in making this happen by paying attention, being prepared, having a good attitude, and giving 100%.
About Me
Hello, my name is Karen Grigg. I have been teaching mathematics for 22 years. Eleven of those years have been here at LNHS. I have been married for 19 years to my husband, Israel. I have 2 beautiful daughters, Makayla and Mackenzie. Makayla is a junior this year and Mackenzie is a 7th grader.
I am a graduate of Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, NC. I was the valedictorian of my graduating class. Upon graduating from high school, I was a recipient of one of the first Teaching Fellows Scholarships. I received my BS degree in Mathematics Education at East Carolina University.
Besides teaching math, I enjoy singing. I currently sing and work with the worship team at my church every Sunday. While attending ECU, I took courses in music as well as math. I only lacked a couple of courses in getting a major in Music Education.
