To be a positive role model for students, teaching them vicariously as well as directly.
To provide and maintain a safe, structured environment for students to feel safe and to learn.
To not simply graduate all of our students, but to provide them with a viable plan for the future.
To instill a love of learning in our students so they will become lifelong learners.
To develop rigor, relevance, and relationships with our students to make learning personal.
About Me
My name is Jenny Carr and I have been in counseling/social work since 1995. I have lived in 13 states and am proud to now call North Carolina home. I have a Master's degree in Social Work from West Virginia University and Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling from the University of West Alabama.
My work experience includes mental health, corporate training and recruiting, working with adults with disabilities, and coordinating activities at an Assisted Living Home in Illinois. Though I enjoyed all of these opportunities, none of them compare to the fulfillment I have received while working with students. I have been working in a school setting since 2001 and have no plans of leaving anytime soon.
