I have been with LNHS since we opened.  I have been with Iredell/Statesville Schools for 27 years.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pa, but grew up in Atlanta.  I moved back to North Carolina after attending college at Queens College in Charlotte, and Graduate School in Chapel Hill.
I love to travel, and have been to Spain twice and Mexico once, having spent a wonderful 2 weeks in the states of Chihuahua, Sonora, and Sinaloa.  If you have never visited another country, it is truly a fabulous experience.
I am a very avid fan of the Tarheels, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  I also love the soccer(futbol) team Real Madrid.  One of my hobbies, obviously, is watching sports.  I also love to read, cook, embroider, and take pictures.  My 4 cats are usually my very willing subjects when I pull out the camera.
I am also a Certified Pharmacy technician and work part time for Rite Aid.
Studying another language is a wonderful way to learn about the world around you.  Nowadays, being bilingual is a very handy skill to have.  I hope that my students will be excited about Spanish and willing to try it out in the community.  Spanish speakers usually love it when you try to communicate with them.  I tell them to never be afraid to try. One of the most important part of studying a language is learning the culture.  A good way to do that is through food.  We will do some eating (and quesadilla making) in class and I hope they will find new things they like.  In short, I hope to make this a fun learning experience for all my students.

If you ever need to get in contact with me, my e-mail is hwilliams@iss.k12.nc.us, and you can also reach me by calling the school number, 704-799-8555, and my extension is 1457.  My planning period varies, so leaving me a voicemail or e-mail is the easiest way to catch me.
Thank you for all you do for our students.  I am proud to be a member of the faculty at one of the finest schools in NC.
