About Me

To give you a little background on myself...I am originally from Tennessee.  I went to University of Arkansas where I received my degree in Elementary Education.  I worked in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system for 13 years as a kindergarten teacher.  I taught kindergarten for two years at Woodland Heights.  I have taught first grade for three years.  I am very happy to be teaching my fourth year in first grade again at Woodland Heights.

I live in Huntersville.  I have 1 daughter, Ashley who went to school at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She is now working in Milford, NJ.  I have a dog name Chloe who is 7 years old.

My teacher assistant is Mrs. Nancy Teague.  She has been a teacher assistant in Iredell Statesville District for twenty-three years.  She has been a teacher assistant in grades kindergarten through third grade.  She has two children and three grandchildren.    We have worked the last three years together and I feel very fortunate to have her.

This year we will be working hard on reading and writing.  We will also be exploring science, math, and the world around us.  We will be busy learning every day in a hands-on environment designed to make learning fun.

During the school year I will be sending home a weekly newsletter describing the week's activities and upcoming events.  Please look for this information and join your child in having a successful first grade experience.

I look forward to working with you and your children this year.
