Welcome to my Classroom

Marie Palma

Classroom Mission

The fifth grade students of Mrs. Palma's class are here to learn new things and achieve our goals, so we can be successful in the future.  We will pay attention, listen to our teachers and fellow students, and try our best.  To be successful fifth graders, we will focus on our goals, work hard, and have fun as we prepare for Middle School.  (August 2012)

About Me

I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at Woodland Heights again this year!  I moved to North Carolina in August 2006 from Rochester, New York.  I taught K, 4th and 6th grades in Spencerport, New York for 12 years.  I also taught at the State University of New York College at Brockport for one year.  I live in Mooresville with my husband, three children and cat.  My son, Anthony, is a 7th grader, my daughter ,Taylor, is a tenth grader, and my daughter, Carli, just started her first year at the University of South Carolina.

This summer we travelled to Myrtle Beach, Columbia, New York, and Rhode Island.  We spent a lot of time in Myrtle Beach because my daughters danced in Myrtle Beach and my son played baseball there.  We got to visit my parents and my sister and her family in New York for a week in July.  We ended the summer by getting Carli settled in her dorm at the University of South Carolina.  We can't wait to go visit her and see a football game!

I read many great books this summer and can't wait to hear about some of the books that you read.

We had a busy, but fun summer!  I look forward to finding out how you spent your time this summer!
