Hello, welcome to Troutman Elementary School and my webpage.  My name is Kimberly Cressman and I have the privilege of serving as the principal of this school.  I have been in the field of education for seventeen years; five as a high school science teacher and twelve as a school administrator.  This is the start of my seventh year at TES.  I have served as both an assistant principal and principal of this school. 

Troutman Elementary is an exciting place to work and learn.  Our staff is committed to providing a quality education for every student.  We are a school that is driven by data. Teachers and administration are constantly monitoring, assessing, and making adjustments to the curriculum in order to best meet the needs of our students.  At the K-2 level, our students are involved in Letterland and Envisions Math.  Students in grades 3-5 also use Envisions Math, VMath, and IXL as part of the math curriculum.  Guided reading, modeled and shared reading are the foundation of our literacy blocks in grades K-5.  Additionally, an intervention/enrichment time is built into the school day to address the needs our all of our students.  Currently, our 5^th grade End of Grade Science scores top those of the district and state.  Our composite EOG test scores for grades 3-5 increased 6.7% in one year!  Academic rigor in a safe, nurturing environment is what we strive for everyday
