About Me
I was one of four daughters raised in a rural town in West Virginia.  My mother was a teacher, so my interest and love for teaching came from her.  My father worked for the oil and gas industry until he retired in July 2011.  My childhood was a pleasant one with much emphasis on education.
 
My graduation from Glenville State College in December 2002 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education led to my moving to North Carolina the following summer.  My first teaching position was for one year in Lincoln County before transferring to Iredell-Statesville Schools. This year makes my tenth year of teaching...nine of those being in ISS.

I was married on May 10, 2008 to Daniel Jenkins of Mt. Mourne, North Carolina.  Our daughter, Eliza, turned three years old in August and our son, Wyatt, turned one in May!
