About Me

My Wife and I

 
My name is Kevin Brown. This is my sixth year at Scotts Elementary, but my seventeenth year in education. I started my career in Rowan County at Cleveland Elementary. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Elementary Education. I received my National Board Certification in 2009 and am now currently in graduate school to be a curriculum specialist. I am currently working as the instructional facilitator at Scotts and love working with the teachers and students in this capacity.
I have two wonderful boys. Their names are Carson and Connor. Carson is eleven and in the fifth grade here at Scotts. Connor is six years old and in Kindergarten here. They keep me on my toes. My wonderful wife is a principal in the Newton-Conover School System at Thorton Elementary. I am extremely proud of her for all the work that she has accomplished.
I enjoy traveling to the mountains and fly-fishing on the streams in the North Carolina mountains. I also enjoy watching and playing many different sports. I look forward to teaching and working with your children this year.
