                                      Our Classroom Mission
 
We want to be smart for first grade! 
We will learn the ABCs, numbers, and science so we can learn how to read and write, how to do math, and explore the world around us.  We will be good listeners and follow the 3 Rs:  Respect yourself, respect others, and respect your school!
 
About the Teacher, Ms. Mel

I am a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Psychology and Counseling.  I hold a Birth-Kindergarten teaching license which was earned through East Carolina University.  I also hold a certificate in Child Care Credentials.  Through previous employment, I have 2 years experience working with infants and toddlers considered at-risk for developmental delays and 6 years experience working with individuals of various ages who have been identified as developmentally delayed.  I taught PreK in Iredell/Statesville Schools since 2004 and Kindergarten in Iredell/Statesville Schools since January 2012.  I hope to challenge your child to develop and grow to meet his or her full potential.
