About Me

Welcome to the new school year! My name is Donna Waugh. I am a 1973 graduate of Statesville High School (Go Greyhounds) and a 1977 graduate of Appalachian State University, home of the 3 Time National Championship Football Team!!!! I am married to Tony and we have three children and two dogs. Our daughter Chappel is married to Grant Miller. They live in Statesville. They became parents of Weston McNeil Miller on August 10, 2009! It is hard to believe he is already two years old. Our son Austin is married to Brenae and they live in Statesville. My new granddaughter, Raleigh Cate was born May 6, 2011. I now have a grandson and a granddaughter! Our son Jefferson is a 2010 graduate of ASU. He works as Sports Director at the Barium Springs YMCA. He will be working on his Master's of Divinity in the fall. Our dogs are a yellow Lab (Sumter) and a Beagle/Jack Russell (Tatum). Your child will hear a lot about my family, as well as my dogs.

I began teaching at East Iredell Elementary in 1977. I taught there until Chappel was born in 1981. Tony and I decided that I would take a year and stay home with Chappel. This one year turned into 13 years! I went back to teaching when Jefferson was in the first grade. This also happened to be the year that Statesville City Schools and Iredell County Schools merged. I was blessed to get a job at Northview and taught there until Cloverleaf opened in 2009. I had mixed feelings about the closing of Northview Elementary. My children all went to Northview and I feel it is a very special place. Cloverleaf has become a special place also. This will begin my third year here. I look forward to teaching a new group of students!
