My mission statement is to guide students in their lifelong learning. I will create a positive learning environment for my students. My students will share the responsibility with me to collect data and reflect during the year to promote  continuous improvement.

 

Hello! Welcome to Mrs. Shotkus's first grade class. I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I received two degrees : one in Early Childhood Education and the other in Elementary Education. I began teaching in 1974 in South Carolina and my teaching experiences have reached across the states of Florida and North Carolina. I have taught kindergarten, first and second grade classes.  My husband and I reside in Mooresville,N.C. with our son, Joe. Joe is currently attending UNC in Asheville. He will be 21 in September. Bob has worked in banking for 35 years and is employed by Wells Fargo in downtown Charlotte. We have one dog named Buster. I am a member of Pennisula Baptist Church where my husband and I teach first grade Sunday school. I enjoy reading and gardening.
