Our Classroom Mission Statement

We, the students of Miss Swartz's cool third grade class come to school every day prepared and ready to learn.  We're also here to become responsible students, prepare for the EOGs, make new friends, and have fun while doing it. In order to do this, we're going to follow our norms, listen to each other, turn in assignments, and always try our best!  By doing this, we will get good grades, pass the EOGs, and move to fourth grade next year!

About Me

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! Let me take a few moments to introduce myself. My name is Sara Swartz. I moved here in the summer of 2007 from Grand Rapids, MI. There I attended Grand Valley State University where I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts with a minor in Elementary Education. Not only am I licensed in North Carolina, but I am also licensed in Michigan.  So far 2012 has been a big year for me.  I graduated from Marygrove College with my Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.  Recently, I got engaged and have enjoyed some wedding planning already.

The 2012-2013 school year will be my sixth year teaching, and I could not be any happier spending it in third grade at CCE. I am very dedicated to teaching every student in safe environment where he or she can reach full potential. I have high expectations for my students because I know every child reach them.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, bowling, photography, and shopping at antique stores. I also enjoy playing with my dog Nico and spending time with my family and friends.

I strongly believe in open communication between the teacher, parents, and students. It is important for me to keep you and your child informed of what is happening at school. Feel free to contact me anytime at the school (704.439.4077) or email me at sswartz@iss.k12.nc.us.

I look forward to a great year with you and your child!
