We will strive to be successful in our study of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science as measured by test results, portfolios, and self reflection. 

 

I taught at Mt. Mourne for 4 years before moving to Coddle Creek.  I began as the computer teacher for the last half of the 04-05 school year.  I then taught 3rd, 4th, and finally 5th grade the last five years. 

 

I live in the Morrison Plantation subdivision in Mooresville with my wife Dawn and my children Josh and Jamie.  We moved to North Carolina six years ago from the Chicago, Illinois area.  Originally, I am from Newton, Massachusetts.  I worked in the Human Service field with people with disabilities in a variety roles for 16 years.  In 1996, I returned to school and earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  In 2000, I graduated from Northern Illinois University.  I took a year off to care for our newly adopted daughter, Jamie.  I taught in Waukegan, Illinois for 3 years before moving to North Carolina.  I have to say that my move into teaching was one of the best decisions I have ever made. 

 

I am looking forward to a challenging and exciting year.
