Our Classroom Mission 
We the students of Mrs. O'Connell's and Mrs. Hamrick's fourth grade class will be setting a good example as a team. We will be respectful, responsible, and caring during the 2012-2013 school year. Our class will strive to advance to fifth grade and be prepared for our future.
  
 
As an effective teacher, my goal will be to motivate, challenge, and assist the students in my class in becoming engaged and self motivated learners.  I look forward to a great year with you and your child as he or she grows.

My name is Colleen O’Connell and this is my fourth year teaching at Lakeshore Elementary. I have my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from UNC Charlotte.  I am certified in both Elementary Education and Special Education. I have a previous college degree in Science/ Dental Hygiene and worked as a Dental Hygienist for years before deciding to pursue my dream in becoming a teacher. 

I have lived in Mooresville for the past eleven years with my wonderful family. My husband Michael and I have three children and many pets. I am looking forward to a great school year. Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me.
